The Fashion Show from Aéthérée, at Friday 27th April, was a great success! The Pfalzkeller in St. Gallen was filled up to the last seat with fashion-interested guests. The Summer collection 2012 and the Winter collection 2012/13 by Aéthérée were presented, combined with eyewear from Külling Optik and jewelry from Gabriela Frei. Jin Coiffeure and Rolf Stehr Make-Up were responsible for the styling of the models. The event was sponsored by Hypo Landesbank Vorarlberg St Gallen.

“Every day people call me to congratulate me for the great show. To be honest, I didn’t expect such an amount of positive Feedback”, says Designer Ly-Ling Vilaysane.

“It wouldn’t be possible to organize such a big event without an amazing team. I had more than 50 helpers, and the whole team worked together like a big family. I’m so grateful, I can’t even express it with words!”

The Spring Summer Collection 2012 «Magic Romance» symbolizes the dream of a new era in which people find a new togetherness.

With the unique mixture of fabrics and materials, which vary in their contrasting features, Ly-Ling strives to represent the current imbalance in the world: «It was very experimental combining thick cotton-stretch fabric with silk. However, through this attempt, I have finally found the style that I always wanted to convey. It’s not always easy to do things differently, but it’s the only way that makes development possible.»

Ly-Ling says: “To me the whole life is a learning process. And the insights I get from my life always get visible in my collections. Wonderland means to me that everything is possible. At least more and more things that seemed to be impossible a few years ago became real when I was working on this collection.”

Every fashion designer knows about those phases in which you close the doors of your atelier for weeks, because you’re working so passionate that you forget everything around you. It is a magic feeling when your work gives you so much joy that everything else doesn’t matter any more. But when the time of the awakening comes, it is important to open the doors of the atelier again, to look what is going on outside.

That’s why Ly-Ling makes a Open Day in her Atelier! She wants to show you where the creations of aéthérée are born and also presents the Spring/Summer collection “Bliss is Life” in her Showroom.

The fall winter collection aéthérée’s wonderland will be shown in New York starting february 4th – 28th at Fashionhaus, located at 58 West 40th Street.

The pieces of the bliss is life collection are like a dream in material form. Try them on, and you’ll feel the Magic.

Ly-Ling says: “This collection is a reflection of my life. It’s so colourful, frisky, easy-going and funny, that it really seems bliss to me. 2010 opened my eyes and gave me the courage to experience with new colours, forms and prints. I used new fabrics and mixed them. The result is what you see and I hope you feel what I felt, when I created and realized this collection.”

We are very happy to be able to share some of the pictures of the latest photo shooting with the bliss is life clothes. May they let you feel as much bliss as we felt during our shoot!

Well, I would like to be honest here. It really was a lot of work to organize this show. Ly-Ling probably doesn’t like that i write this, but she knows herself that if she touches something, it needs to be done as perfect as possible. That’s why the whole team of aéthérée was quite busy in the days before this fashion show.

But to be even more honest, if you see smiling faces around you and if you see that your guests have a good time, then you know that it was more than worth to be busy for a little while.

Thanks to everybody! To me it really seems to be bliss, when your job is about making people happy.

Last year we got nominated for the Design Preis Schweiz. Now we also won the Lilly award 2010, which is conferred by the swiss fashion magazine Edelweiss and L’Oreal.

Ly-Ling would like to take this opportunity to show how grateful she is for all those wonderful people that help her: “I could list a whole page with names of people that help me on my way. It’s like if life would help me to do what i do. When i have to sort out something i always suddenly meet exactly the person that i was waiting for. When i design clothes I feel so much passion and joy inside me, that i know that I’m on the right way. But without my helpers, I couldn’t do nothing. Thank you so much!”

In the beginning of the creation phase of the “there is no time” collection, Ly-Ling was inspired by the idea of evolution. She worked on romantic styles out of the 19th century. Coats that have their belts a little higher came into being, and also Empire dresses with meshes around the neck and tresses. Then suddenly evolution came rushing into her life. A Agent said that he’d like to present her collection in New York. To use this chance, she had to finish the collection two months earlier.

The collection is named after an insight she had during this times. The clothes represents the force of inner peace. It should help the wearer to stay calm and to live his full potential, even when life creates a storm of chaos around him.

In August 2008, Aéthérée was one of the five winners of the first Shinmai Creator’s project competition in Japan. 54 Designers participated in this competition. The Jury was the president and representative director of Chanel in Japan, chief Editor of the Elle Magazine Paris, president of Issey Miyake…

In March 2009, Aéthérée presented their a/w collection in Tokyo Midtown. This was one part of the price at the Shinmai Creator’s project. There’s a video of this presentation on Youtube and we are very thankful for having the possibility to share it here with you.
